Hello, beautiful people!
If you’ve walked through the doors of XIO Skincare & Spa recently, you might have noticed a new kind of energy in the air. For over 25 years, my heart and soul have been dedicated to one thing: helping you feel confident in your own skin. From tackling stubborn breakouts to helping that "inner glow" finally make its way to the surface, it has been an incredible journey.
But lately, I’ve felt a new calling. As much as I love being in the treatment room with my clients, I realized that I have a quarter-century of mistakes, triumphs, and "aha!" moments stored up. It felt like the right time to open the doors wider and start sharing that knowledge with the next generation of skincare professionals.
I am so thrilled to officially share that I’ve stepped into the role of an instructor! Today, I want to talk a little bit about what that transition has been like, why mentorship matters more than ever in 2026, and celebrate the amazing new estheticians who are already making us proud.
A Legacy of Skin Health
When I started in this industry two and a half decades ago, skincare looked a lot different. We didn't have the advanced Hydra-Beauty systems we use today, and "skin barrier health" wasn't exactly a buzzword on social media.
What has stayed the same, however, is the need for personalized care. At XIO, we’ve always believed that no two faces are the same. Whether someone comes in for a Repair That Acne-Facial or a quick Custom Glow treatment, they deserve a plan that is uniquely theirs.
Teaching allows me to instill this philosophy into new estheticians from day one. It’s not just about following a protocol; it’s about looking at the skin, listening to the client, and understanding the "why" behind every step.

From Practitioner to Mentor
Moving from the treatment table to the front of the classroom was a big shift. As a practitioner, my focus is on the person right in front of me. As a mentor, my focus is on the hundreds of people my students will treat in the future.
In my recent certification classes: like our popular Dermaplaning Training: I don’t just show them how to hold a blade. We talk about the science of exfoliation, how to prep the skin for a Microdermabrasion-Facial, and how to ensure every client feels safe and pampered.
There is a certain "human-led precision" that you just can't learn from a YouTube video or a textbook. It’s found in the way you touch the skin, the way you adjust the pressure during a massage, and the way you explain a Vitamin C Anti-Aging treatment to a client who is worried about fine lines.
Celebrating Our Recent Graduates
I want to take a moment to give a massive shoutout to the group you see in our hero photo at the top of this post. These ladies put in the work! They dove deep into theory, spent hours practicing their techniques, and passed their certifications with flying colors.
Seeing the pride on their faces when they receive their certificates is, honestly, one of the highlights of my career. They aren't just learning how to do "facials"; they are learning how to be skincare authorities. They are learning to spot UV damage during a complimentary skin analysis and how to calm sensitive, irritated skin with our Rosacea Relief protocols.
Mentorship is about more than just passing a test. It’s about building a community of professionals who support each other. In an industry that is often fast-moving and trend-heavy, having a solid foundation of 25+ years of experience gives these new estheticians the confidence to stay grounded.

Why This Matters for YOU
You might be wondering, "Xiomara, this is great for the students, but what does it mean for me as a client?"
It means that the standard of care at XIO Skincare & Spa is only going up. When I teach, I am constantly refining our own internal processes. I’m staying on top of 2026's biggest trends: like biotech peptides and advanced lymphatic drainage: to make sure I’m giving my students the most current information.
Naturally, that knowledge flows right back into the treatments you receive. Whether you’re booking a Rejuvenate & Glow Facial or coming in for a consultation, you are benefiting from a culture of continuous learning.
Every member of our team is held to that "expert" standard. We aren't just "doing a job"; we are practicing a craft that we love.

Looking Ahead
The skincare world is evolving. We’re seeing more AI-guided treatments and high-tech devices, which is exciting! But I believe the future of skincare is "human-led." Technology should enhance our work, not replace our intuition.
As I continue to host more classes and mentor more rising stars, my goal remains the same: to protect, correct, and maintain the health of your skin.
If you’ve ever thought about a career in esthetics, or if you’re a fellow professional looking to sharpen your skills in dermaplaning or Hydra-Facials, I’d love to have you in one of my upcoming sessions. And if you’re a client, just know that your skin is in very, very experienced hands.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me for the last 25 years. Here’s to the next 25 and the amazing new talent we’re bringing into the world!
With love and glow,
Xiomara Morin Owner & Instructor, XIO Skincare & Spa
